Have the individual lie down relaxed on the right side on the treatment table with the head in a slight extension on a pillow. Also, place a small elevation under the lower legs to facilitate the movement chain with a lateral flexion to the left and extension. Palpate the caudal part of the os sacrum on the right side with the right hand. Place the fingers of the left hand on the upper part of the os sacrum. Together, these two positions ensure a lateral flexion and an extension of the os sacrum.
The therapist rotates the person to the left, thereby fixating the right pelvis on the treatment table and placing the right Sacro-Iliac joint in a nearly horizontal position. The thorax of the therapist, combined with pressure on the cranial side of the os sacrum, shifts the pelvis ventrally and to the right, enabling a D typology. After achieving this position of the os sacrum, the left hand maintains that position, and the right hand takes the left pelvis, rotating it ventrally, creating a counter-nutation in the Sacro-Iliac joint. This movement in the left Sacro-Iliac joint conforms to the D typology.
