Guide the person to sit in a comfortable position, with feet on the floor and hands relaxed on the lap. Approach the person and position the chest (processus xyphoïdeus) against the back of the head. Place one hand on the frontal part of the head on one side, and the other hand under the mandibula and chin on the opposite side. This setup allows for movement in flexion, lateral flexion, and rotation.

To initiate flexion and lateral flexion, apply unilateral compression on the head with one hand, while the other hand performs rotation. The hand moving the mandibula also shifts the spine in the opposite direction. The therapist's body moves accordingly in the same direction. Placing the hand on the backside of the head unilaterally initiates extension and lateral flexion. The other hand moves the mandibula and chin appropriately.

The therapist's body maintains contact with the backside of the head using the chest (processus xyphoïdeus) and moves in sync with the head and the two hands, ensuring a proper shifting movement. Throughout these manoeuvres, it is crucial to ask if the person is looking in the same direction as the head moves.
